No NCAA tournament for Michigan. :(
I looked up the records for Air Force and Utah St. Neither of these teams deserve a bid over Michigan. However, we were not the only team to get screwed. Losing 7 of the last 9 ultimately doomed us. I wish the NCAA used a transparent process for selecting and seeding the field, similar to what is done in NCAA hockey. There is no suspicion of politics or back room deals when that field is selected each year.
On the bright side, the hockey team made up for the collapse against Ferris St. by sweeping them in the conference tournament this weekend. I think they locked up a tourney bid with those wins!

Sorry about Michigan. I think they were only 1 win away. The one I don't understand the most if Air Force. RPI of 50 and 0-1 versus top 50 competition. How's a team like that get in? I was worried when they went to the last set of 8 teams to be named and UNI wasn't named yet, because I also knew Missouri St. hadn't been named, and at that point knew one of the two were out due to the way the committee seeds teams. How does Missouri St. not get in with an RPI of 21?
I thought UNI and Iowa got tough draws. Bucknell has a tough game against Arkansas too. Iowa, UNI and Bucknell all play on Friday...I guess I know what I'm doing!
Here in Columbus, even the OSU fans were rooting for Michigan to get into the bracket so the Big Ten would have better representation...and to watch us lose in the first round! Dan almost shit his pants when Air Force was announced!
UNIcorn, that comment about AF hurts! They've improved so much during the last 5 years, they deserve a bid for that alone! Go Birds!!!!
