Family News
My brother called me while I was in Vegas. He had been waiting for word on the fellowship he applied for in Washington D.C.. There were about 1,000 applicants, and my brother just found out that he was one of 2 people to get the job. I am super happy for him. He's wanted this particular fellowhip for years. It is also going to play a huge role in my decision regarding whether or not I relocate to Philadelphia. I want to move closer to D.C. once he moves, especially since he might not be able to bring his family out for a few months. I had been leaning towards staying in CT lately, but this might change my mind.
My brother is not moving until early next year (assuming nothing falls through during the next couple months), so I will not be moving for at least a few months. I just signed up at a new apartment compelx starting in July, so I will probably need to break the lease early if I move. Oh well. Not really anything I can do about it except hope that I get some relocation benefits from work (which is not guaranteed since I am pushing the move). I still need to interview for internal positions at some point, so nothing it set yet.
I am going to be in Philadelphia for three or four days after Memorial Day because of the emergency I referred to in my Vegas post. I am actually quite excited about spending some additional time there to enjoy the city and explore the area.
