I'm 'IN'!
Here is a picture of the new toy I purchased this weekend. I decided to join the rest of Connecticut and switch to Verizon. Now I finally have decent service in most parts of the state. AND, I can send/receive text messages (although I still think text messaging is dumb and have yet to take advantage of this feature).
Moving my phone book over from the old phone and figuring out the features of the new phone is definitely a pain in the ass.

you do have picture messaging, right? trust me, you will think it's worth it after a few drunken nights from me. I send messages I shouldn't to people that I shouldn't, fyi.
