The Doctor is In

I don't really have much time to write anything, but I am off to California tomorrow night to join my brother in his celebration of adding 'Dr.' to the beginning of his name. After seven years of blood, sweat, tears, he is about to earn his PhD. The dissertation is done, sent to various publications, and at least half of his committee has signed off. All that is left is his presentation on Thursday, which should be a relative walk in the park. I'm really happy for him. I was worried for a while that he might not make it due to his stormy relationship with his advisors, but it looks like he is about done. This weekend should be a good celebration with friends and family.
