Corruption, in a Bad Way
When my hard drive crashed last month, I wasn't too upset. I had backed up my computer at the end of December, so I really did not lose that many personal files or music.
Or so I thought. I copied all of my music (~4GB) from my backup DVD to my new computer this week. About 1.5 GB of the music was corrupted. Apparently the files did not burn properly to the DVD. Grr. Losing that much music blows.
Thankfully, I was able to recover about half of what I lost from older backup CDs that I had. Unfortunately, I lost all of the music I added to my computer for the last 12-18 months. Most of that music was obtained legally through iTunes, but they don't keep a record of the music I bought.
Thankfully, TheCrazyCanuck came to the rescue tonight. She keeps her music on an external hard drive, which she let me borrow tonight. I've recovered most of what I lost. And then some! :)
I owe her. Big time.
