If I had a Million Dollars...

Maybe it was just a bad day at work, but I was reliving scenes from Office Space at various times today. It happens from time to time. After all, Office Space is one of the greatest movies ever. I guess that's what happens when you are crammed in a cubicle all day. I have already pegged every major character from that movie to someone at work.

At one point during a crazy busy day today, I was wondering what I would do if I had several million dollars. While Office Space definitely provides two enticing options: absolutely nothing or do two chicks at the same time, I was taking the question a little more seriously. It was one of those rare philosophical moments at work between mathematical calculations. (That's sarcasm people, I don't solve math problems all day long).

Before I offer my thoughts, I figured I'd poll the audience. What would you do if you had all the money you needed to live comfortably? Professional athlete is not an option. Sorry Roop "Steve Kerr" Dogg.

If no one comments, I'll assume no one cares and I'll try and come up with a more interesting topic next time. I'll cry a little as well.

I'd buy a block of homes in every major city that the crazychicas wanted to live in so that we could all grow old together and raise our crazychicalets around each other. because let's face it, kids these days aren't raised the way they should be, and I'm not going to trust my kids playing with just anyone else's kids.

seriously, though, I don't know what i'd do. I always thing how great it would be to be an heiress like Paris Hilton [but not be Paris Hilton, if you get my point] and not have anything to do but party all the time. but that would get tiring. and I don't have the metabolism to be able to drink that much, do nothing, and still not gain weight.

I think I'd have some fun seeing the world for a while and then find a normal person to marry, settle down, and have a small army of children. then I'd hire the best freaking nanny ever [because lord knows I'm soooo not ready to actually raise children] who will discipline the hell out of them while I just hug them and give them kisses all the time and love them. who am I kidding. disciplining my children is what I'm looking forward to most.

ok. here's the real answer. I swear this time. I'd hire a kickass coach, and I'd spend my days training for an ironman. seriously. it's something that I would eventually like to accomplish, but it's going to take a lot more time, money, skill, and coaching than I have right now. so that's it. that's my final answer, regis. sorry I'm not very exciting.

I would probably do some sort of volunteer work. I haven't decided what with - old peeps, maybe, or kids, or possibly adults who want to learn to read - but something like that. There's lots of jobs out there that can't pay very well that would help a lot of people and be very rewarding.

Gah, I sound like a loser. Scratch that, I would take the Paris Hilton route as well...drink and travel and shop (well, seriously, I probably would do a hell of a lot of traveling, and a good deal of shopping to boot)

Holy crap! I have 10 comments on one post? Sweet!

I didn't post my thoughts yesterday since I was home for a grand total of thirty minutes between the end of the work day and when I went to sleep at 11PM last night. I just got home from work a few minutes ago, so I'll post something later.

Despite the fact that none of you probably cares what I think since I am just some random person commenting on a blog that I found through blog stalking, I shall grace you with my opinion (thus upping the comment total...believe you me, I know how exciting high comment totals can be).

If I had a millions of dollars, I would move to Italy, buy a villa, and plant fields and fields of sunflowers. When I wasn't busy doing that, I would gather doctors and dentists and take them to Africa/Cambodia for volunteer missions.

Oh, and I would also buy myself some friends...money is the only reason Paris has any.

Just as a PS, I would have made a comment on Michigan football, but I live in Japan and therefore, haven't seen a single football game in two years (that was all I asked Santa for this year! Just a tape full of college football bowl games. In case you are wondering, it was not provided). This disqualifies me from having an opinion.
