Family Misc

I'm in AZ with the part of my family that did not directly participate in producing a baby this past week. At one point of the conversation, one of my uncles asked why Eli did not have a middle name. My dad said that my brother decided against the middle name because of 'family tradition' (my brother and I do not have middle names - though I'm not sure we really knew why).

After thinking about it for a minute, I realized that my uncles all have middle names (except for possibly my dad). My dad reminded us that two of his brothers ditched their names and now go by their middle names. My dad wanted the name he gave his children to stick throughout our lives, so he decided not to give us a middle name and an easy option to choose a different name.

Maybe I knew that before, but I must have forgotten that story.

PS - This is an awesome picture of baby Eli. Hooray for Michigan's newest fan! :) Ok - so maybe this picture is cuter.

PPS - I'll comment on the UM Football carnage in a few days. I'm oddly calm about everything, which is strange given the anger and rage I tend to feel after the first loss of the year.
